Purist
Key benefits
- reduces the chances of airborne pathogens escaping
from an area of infection
- protects vulnerable patients from infection by
inhalation of bacteria from visitors, staff and other patients
- protects vulnerable patients from reinfection
- fully portable unit with residual current protection
and no ultraviolet leakeage
- four high quality, steerable castors ensure that the
PURIST is easily moved from location to location
Product description
Many controlled areas cannot be maintained at a negative pressure and many
ventilation systems do not provide sufficient air changes to remove airborne pathogens.
The Vesey U.V. PURIST ultraviolet re-circulation system will re-circulate the air in a
typical 5m x 5m x 2.5m room every 6 to 10 minutes (10>6 air changes per hour).
On each passage through the PURIST, pathogens are destroyed. This process
reduces the level of airborne pathogens to approximately the level that are being emitted.
The level is markedly reduced over the first hour, thus reducing the possibility of
pathogens escaping the controlled area.
The output air from the PURIST is virtually bacteria free. In excess of 90% of
all bacteria that are drawn into the PURIST will be destroyed.
There is no exposure to ultraviolet light under normal operation of this unit. Please note
that extreme care must be taken when these bulbs are being used, to ensure that no one is
exposed to the ultraviolet light for any length of time. The intense ultraviolet rays can
cause burns to the skin and eyes.
